Vitis House Brings WSET Award In Spirits Certification To The Triangle

May 27, 2020 Vitis House

Raleigh integrates spirits education due to N.C. craft distiller market growth by 1057% in the last decade.

RALEIGH, N.C., May 27, 2020 – Vitis House owner, Doreen Colondres acclaimed international chef, and wine expert announced today the launch of Wine & Spirit Education Trust® (WSET) Level One Award in Spirits. This beginner-level course will be held at Loading Dock Raleigh (1053 E. Whitaker Mill Rd. Suite 115) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the 27th of June. As the craft spirits movement continues to rise throughout North Carolina, Vitis House is thrilled to offer educational courses in the capital city for anyone interested in this rapidly-growing industry.

The course will be taught by WSET Level 3 spirits educator Raj Sabharwal, a world-renowned Certified Whiskey Ambassador and founding partner of Glass Revolution Imports. The main spirits types and styles will be highlighted, along with production and key flavor/aroma factors. The tasting will include more than 10 spirits from around the world.  Registration can be found online at www.vitishouse.com.

Vitis House is committed to the safety of its community; due to COVID-19 precautions, in-classroom capacity will be very limited throughout the summer.  The new summer classes include:

Olé Wines and Tapas,  Malbec and Empanadas, Romantic Reds
…and WSET Level 1, 2 & 3 Award in Wines.

The dynamic school—which will soon integrate cooking classes–has received enthusiastic engagement from the area since its opening in September 2019. During the COVID-19 quarantine, Vitis House continued to hold several successful online classes like Wine 101: Classified “R” (rare wines), Whiskey or Bourbon, and a WSET Level 1 Award in Wines.

Learn more about all upcoming online, private and in-classroom classes on the website, along with updates on all future events.
